The following was posted this date within the Union Army HQ Forum.

OFFICERS OF THE ACWGC UNION ARMY,
ATTENTION TO PARADE!

General Dave Danner, having announced his intention of stepping down as Commander of the Union Army of the Cumberland, is hereby relieved of that assignment. Lieutenant General Doug Shaw is officially announced as the new AotC Commander, assuming his duties effective this date.

CITATION FOR THE OUTSTANDING SERVICE COMMENDATION
GENERAL DAVID DANNER

Image

General David Danner, is hereby awarded the Union Army's Outstanding Service Medal and Ribbon, for his dedicated service as Commander of the Union Army of the Cumberland. General Danner very capably and steadily performed his duties, cheerfully, graciously and aggressively as the occasions demanded. His constant oversight of the welfare of the Union Army of the Cumberland and his frequent contributions to the Union Army Command Staff marked him as a keen, knowledgeable and dependable asset to the good order and functioning of his command. This was the General's second tour as the AotC AC, and his second, very well earned OSC.

OFFICERS OF THE ACWGC UNION ARMY,
Present, ARMS!
Order, ARMS!
Parade, DISMISSED!

Please join me in saluting General Danner for his service accomplishments, and in well-wishing Lieutenant General Shaw to his new command!

Congratulations General Danner. I think on such an occasion that someone should by drinks and General Simms has volunteered his tab. Really, I'm pretty sure that's what he said.

Thank You Sirs for your kind words. I will try to maintain the outstanding traditions of the AotC. There is no way that I can fill the exceptionally large boots of Gen Danner but I will do my best. I hereby accept command of the AotC.
