As I said, the first thing I look for is an editor, and I spend more time building scenarios than playing them. I agree AoR stock scenarios were pretty lame, so I built every major ACW battle from scratch, from Bull Run to the Wilderness, east and west theaters.

I would have liked to see that, although I prefer the regiment level as opposed to AoR brigade level (I seem to remember the oob limitations making regiment level impossible)...I spent a ton of time with that editor too...

Au contraire.
All my OOB units were regiments and batteries!
With 300 units per side, Gettysburg and Wilderness were a bit of a stretch. Divisions and corps were bogus, with counters for the commanders and division troops, but no subordination.
