Great to have you with us, Lt. Longmire! I will forgive you for enlisting on the wrong side of the club, but you must understand that when this great conflict has been resolved that you will not be accorded any of the celebratory libations or women that will be provided. You will have to be content watching the proceedings from your cell, standing alongside General McOmish who will tell you that this whole thing might have been avoided if Lincoln hadn't have put a tax on milk! That caused everyone in the South to turn to alcohol, their sense of reason then becoming heavily impaired.

I know you couldn't possibly be related to the fictional Sheriff Walt Longmire of Absarooka County (one of my favorite TV characters), but are you from that neck of the woods?

Russell, you know very well not to listen to Yanks. General "My-error" is sitting a bit too high on the horse to say how this war will end. It continues to be fought some 150 years after it started. The general has been staring a bit too long at his reflection in the silverware he eats off, that's all. But never mind, he'll be replaced next time the moon rises or Lincoln takes a shine to another. That's why we're fighting this war, Russell. Northerners think they know better - they want to be our rulers not our brothers. If we don't prevail there's no telling what trouble our country will end up in....
