Members of the club it gives me great pleasure to offer to you the latest creation from the Old Banshee Team.

The Campaign Overland Standard Graphics Package.
Not only that the Old Banshee Team Also are proud to offer you,
The Campaign Overland 3D Graphics Package.

http://old-banshee.yolasite.com/downloads.php

This has been a long time coming and an awful lot of work has gone into these mods. I would like to thank the team for all their efforts.
Rick Denola and Bill Lott for their outstanding work on the leader images. All have been researched and I would say we have 95% correctness If we have not got the correct leader with the correct leader image it is because the image does not exist.
James Wilkes who has a rough time of it lately but still worked with us on the unit images,
I would also like to thank John Ferry for his historical and knowledge and workings of Campaign Overland.
A special mention to Chris Perleberg who designed a program which enabled me to check the oob's with the images and hopefully I have got them all right this one program saved me months of work.
James told me I must have been mad to take on the task of doing a new set of unit images and a new set of 3d images, well I can tell you it nearly drove me mad creating them. I have taken the liberty of putting units in their original uniforms as well as in standard uniforms of when the battle took place in the war . The same is to be said for the flags which again have been researched. I have been limited by the game engine otherwise you would have had supply wagons for different corps and actual images of army leaders, corps leaders and division leaders in 3D.
I hope you enjoy the new packages.
If you have any problems please let me know.
Please leave some feed back when you get the mods up and running good or bad.
On behalf of the Old Banshee Team
I wish you all the best ENJOY.........................
Frank

My question is obviously prompted by my ignorance. If we download the oobs for 3-D, and then those for 2-D, will they replace the 3d?

As far as I know 2d does not have an impact on oob's. Where are you downloading 2d from?

I thought there are oobs in the 2d package and the 3d package?

Post subject:  Re: Overland Mod

John, there is no 2d package. There is a standard package and a 3d package. The standard package only has the unit bmp and leader bmp modified and the oob matching the unit bmp. The 3d id numbers in the oob's are not touched.
The 3d package has new 3d images hundreds of them and the oob's 3d id numbers have been changed to match.
I hope that explains it for you.
Remember if you want to compare them then you will need 2 campaign overland engines set up one for each package.
Just run with the one you like. The unit bitmaps are interchangeable though.

Frank,
no offense, but it is a little confusing which package I am suppose to download to get ALL the changes.

If I download the 3d package only does that update the 2d units also?

Post subject:  Re: Overland Mod

If you download only the 3d, you will still get the unit pics when you play in 2d. As Frank indicated, it is either/or and you would need two Overland files to be able to see what is featured in the standard package.

The 3d package is all new and has all new graphics. I have named it 3d as I have drawn all new 3d images.
The standard package will give you what you got with all our other releases.

I have had opportunity to peruse the 3d package, and it is a beautiful thing. Frank, please pass on to your team my gratitude, admiration, and amazement regarding the great job that they have done, and save a generous share for yourself!
Salute!

I couldn't resist the urge to immediately download these packages, as all of the Old Banshee Team's previous stuff has been of superb quality. And I took my time in doing it, following Frank's instructions exactly. Then I breathlessly fired up the game to get my first view, selecting the historical Mine Run Campaign scenario.

WOAH! WOW!!

Its stuff like this that just knocks me over! Somebody (and Frank has identified all who composed this graphical crew) went to a lot of trouble to give us a lot of accuracy along with the color and vibrancy for which they've become so well noted. The 3D work is remarkable, way beyond anything produced in the line up to this point. One can spend hours just surfing the graphics and marveling at the composition, artistry and historicity.

This is also something of a change from their former work, in that the unit information graphics now have multiple figures displayed instead of a single figure, the unit flag becoming a smaller element of the background. The backgrounds portray a wide variety, lending even more distinction and interest. For some, however, this may be appear to be a bit too busy in its composition. But taken as a whole, the unit information graphics mesh very well with the on-board, 3D unit graphics! There is a definite continuity involved, giving one a sense of something well and thoroughly designed.

I am very impressed and completely taken with this newest effort from the Old Banshee Team. Congratulations, gentlemen! You've managed to outdo yourselves once again! Simply incredible!

I do have one qestion, but prior to my question, I would like to say the entire series has without a doubt, been given new life because of these beautiful works.
The question I have is, pertaining to the 3-D graphics specifically and only the 3-D graphics, can they be used for the rest of the series ?
Obviously each OOB and info download is game specific, correct ?

Thanks for all help and information on this !!
