Gentlemen, it is my pleasure to announce the return to active duty of Club Member # 175, Lieutenant General Randy Brooks. Randy will be returning to the Army of the Shenandoah as the Commander of the 4th Brigade, First Infantry Division, VIII Corps. Randy was one of those around when the Club started and was active in a number of committees that were convened to hammer out the original Club Rules. I expect that you could ply him with a couple of drinks and discover all sorts of interesting things!

Welcome back Lt. General Brooks,

One would hope that during your time off you may have seen the error of your ways and returned wearing a fresh new grey uniform,
but alas we are happy just to have you back in blue as well.

<Salute>

Well it appears I now get to welcome you back to the club that you helped introduce me to many years ago.

It's been 14 years since you welcomed a new cadet to the ACWGC West Point as the Union Academy was known before the name was changed.

Good Sirs!

I wish is acknowledge with pleasure the greetings from both former and newly met members of the ACWGC!

I would be very happy to reminisce with former members and offer what information I can to more recent members on some of the activities of this Club in its early days.

Below my signature on this message I have posted the message I gave to my new mess-mates in the AoS, a command in which I served during my previous membership.

And as stated, I was also an Instructor at the US West Point Academy. It seems that current club records only go back to 2002 or so. And I will endeavor to recover any and all information I can from my older computer systems to see if I can fill in some gaps.

During my earlier membership, I was a member of the US Committee that established the early ground rules used to establish the CS & US clubs as a unified organization that became the ACWGC.

To those members of our worthy opponents of the other half of the Club, I look forward to honorable contests on the field of battle. You might note that I was trained on the Talon Soft Battleground series. The newer Campaign series are much better, but I have been facing only the computer as an opponent over the last years. I will post on the opponents wanted board when I have gained enough experience in the new system playing against live opponents. I don't believe it will take me long. I have no qualms about receiving an "education" when engaging in direct combat. There is ALWAYS something to learn.

Again, I am most happy to return to the Club. As I was a serving Officer of this great Nation, I could do no less than support Old Glory on the ACWGC battlefield. I take no umbrage that others take up the Rebel cause, as there needs to be an opponent if victory is to be gained!

<SALUTE!>

Your Obedient Servant

Randy Brooks
