Some links for those interested. Today is the anniversary of the battle.

I also post this for my buddy & gaming partner here, Lieutenant Colonel Randy Sickbert, who I know enjoys this battle a lot. Him & I were having a grand time playing it until we had file troubles. We may try again the future. I thought the scenario was well worth playing for those interested.

The Western battles are a bit more exciting for me in the games. :) (I may or may not be bias though, per my Club service, you look at my signature below and decide... :P )

Farm country yes.....better yet....right in the middle of Bourbon country!

The battlefield is not as large as what our game maps might suggest. However, due to the nature of the battle, that part of the field that was hotly contested is there in practically it's entirety and for the most part in almost period condition. The battlefield park management and the Friends of the Battlefield have and are doing a fine job there......the State could be more supportive however!

What a gentleman! There was no "we" that had file troubles.......other than when I came back from some medical adventures I no longer remembered my game password! The good General let me off with a Draw when he was due a fine Victory.

Haha, What Southern Honor would I have on calling out a friend and one who had been sick too, let alone taking a victory from him...

I am a big believer in karma and also that friendships are more important than victories. As Nick Kunz has so rightly placed on the front door of VMI from the famed Club Member of the CSA General John Dragan of the AoA:

"It's better to win a friend than it is to win a battle"

I firmly believe in that! 8)

Salute Randy & Drinks for all!
