To the members of the ACWGC

I have designed a game using the HPS Atlanta 2.0. I have play tested it some and think it ready for further play. I designed it ideally for a two vs two team game in mind but I think it could be played one on one, three on three, or four on four. If any one would like a copy of the game please let me know, it will require the downloading of two files they are both added into the Atlanta files like any other game file, the game file and a sub map file. I will send the files zipped unless requested otherwise. If any one would like to play me or join in a team let me know I could play as the union or csa. I would be pleased to hear any feedback on the game design, especially on the victory point set up.

The game situation depicts Johnson's army after being reinforced setting a trap for the Army of Ohio which is sent by Sherman to flank the Etowah river line near Allatoona Georgia. I have always thought that by delaying the fall of Atlanta till after the 64 elections thereby electing McClellan was the best chance for the south to win the war. If only Johnson could have got along better with President Davis so he could have been properly trusted/ supported by the government, and been a little bolder. I believe he could have done much more in delaying the union advance through north Georgia which is full of many excellent defensive lines.

Although the union has a much larger army, 121,914 to, 85,539 for the CSA, the game starts with an uphill fight for the north facing a strong line and two river crossing as well as having the Army of Ohio being ambushed and potentially cut off and surround before the Army of Tennessee can reinforce. Victory points are used to emphasize the importance of the rail line to both sides through out the Atlanta Campaign.

The ford at 42-39 dose not function correctly. Their is a ford at 111-93. The game should be played with artillery fire by cannon unchecked.

Ernie--
I'd be interested in getting a copy of the files. Not sure if I'm up for another MP right now, though.

Ernie,

I, likewise, would be interested in receiving a copy. Can not participate in play at the moment, however. Working on some scenarios myself.

Reposting my interest in an MP game and the files as my email was incorrect for my first posting.
