Can anyone tell me who said the following?

"There's no greater fanatic than a Marine!"

Speaking of Marines (and Navy) I am marooned on Vieques Island, off Puerto Rico, until the 21st. Was anybody here back in the day? It is soooo different.

I was there three or four times in the '70s. The beaches were beautiful. After a few days so were the cows.

I was there (off and on) in 1960 through 1962. In early 1961, we were first ALLOWED to wear CIVILIAN clothes on liberty in town. I remember the BocaChica bar and I can't quite remember the one that was just below the hill close to the water.

I left Vieques for the last time in late October 1962.

Of course, can't forget the Red Rooster.

WHAT are you doing on Vieques, NOW. LOL

Thanks, Joe! Looks like the film was made during the war.
