Found out that my laptop doesn't like coffee as well as I do so a new computer later, I downloaded Campaign Overland and get the following error message when I try to open the game turn:

Modem Error

Error opening log file pbemail.yyy

Nothing that I am doing is working. Any suggestions?

Ned,

May be a case of the blind leading the blind here, but it appears from the message "Modem error" that you are playing online which I have never done. The .yyy file in a PBEM game is simply a text file which lists the situation as it exists when your opponents turn is advanced, much like a .SCN file. Did your opponent advance the turn? If not, I would guess that the .yyy file is null. Are you at the same game level (2.x)? If your opponent has advanced the turn -- the .yyy is corrupted in some form--, can they go back to the last saved portion of the turn prior to advancing? If not, then probably need to redo the turn in its entirety.

As previously stated I am only guessing here since I have no experience with online play.

Thanks, Robert. This is a PBEM game that we have been playing for a long, long time. I am having trouble with both my games. Had Win 10 on my laptop and Win 10 on this computer but it doesn't appear to be treating it the same (ran into Admin privilege problems on my other game and now it doesn't even recognize my disk in the drive). I have loaded his previous yyy and reloaded his last yyy, and get the same results. Frustrating, particularly when time available is in short supply.

Try deleting BOTH players yyy and xxx files, then try it.

I know nothing about Win10, but this seemed to work on other OS's.
