Good day gentlemen,
as I usually utilize the Banshee graphics mods I see a wide range of flags used, some aren't hard to identify but some are. The web has a lot about flags unfortunately many just scratch that topic and don't go beyond what one can already find on wikipedia. So if anyone has links to sources dealing in depth with Civil War flags please post them.
With regards

Which side are you looking at? Which game as well?

This is more a general request as all Banshee graphic mods for all the games try to use the unit flags as historical correct as possible.
But playing the Union and never peeking at the other side until the game is done it would be most helpful to know the Confederate flags.

Ok, cool! I also have to look things up as sometimes I'll see a Union to Confederate flag and have no idea what it was. 8)

You looked at Wikipedia already - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flags_of_ ... of_America

and https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Cate ... of_America

I'm looking over the icons for HPS/JTS Atlanta right now.

Image

There's the Hardee Flag, like the one seen in Icon #12. Most famous as the flag of Cleburne's units.

Image

Icon #56 has some during the war and post war meaning and a larger colonial legacy for Alabama - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Alabama

Image

The Arkansas one, as seen in Icon #104 is not historic from the war per say, but has some meaning added post-war: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Arkansas

Image

Icon #132 is the Cumming's Brigade flag, related to Alfred Cumming - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfred_Cumming_(general)

Image

Icon #262 is a flag carried by several Missouri regiments and has sort of become the Missouri Battle Flag. Sometimes mentioned as Price's Flag (for Sterling Price) who also had a role in the Missouri State Guard Flag. Obviously featured a little more in Campaign Ozark.

A start at least and I'll post more when I can. Other folks should too if they would like!
