7. If you are occupying entrenchments, they usually cut your losses by 50%. If you also build breastworks for those entrenchments, they usually cut your losses by an additional 40%. With both of those, your casualties from firing (infantry or artillery regardless of the distance) is going to be negligible. The only ways that your opponent is generally going to move you is to either flank you out, starve you out, or melee you out. Embankments, city hexes, and forests also diminish your casualties. Stay aware of them and utilize them to your advantage. |
