14. One of the toughest units to eliminate is a routed unit that is not isolated. If a routed unit is isolated, just one combat unit that can melee can overrun it, even a one man unit. A unit that is not routed only requires four units to eliminate it (the three rear hexes and one front hex with all hexes around the unit in your command and control). BUT a routed unit that is not isolated can slip through your fingers and run to heaven knows where as long as it has just one hex to move to, regardless of whether or not it is in an opponent’s command and control. Thus it requires six units to eliminate a routed unit. Note: Any impassable hexes (deep water, edge of map, etc) will suffice as a substitute for one of your units.
