25. If you have a unit(s) getting clobbered by artillery or small arms fire, why would you leave them there for another turn of getting clobbered unless it was absolutely necessary. If your line can be reformed further back at that spot, then maintain integrity but fall back. If you don’t have woods, breastworks, town hexes, stone walls, or some other defensive booster to fall back to, then distance alone will lessen the damage.
