Sir, i have engaged the union at Cross Keys. (turn 20 out of 25). After several setbacks with the union cavalry, I have regrouped my army into a defensive position. Due to my lack of cav, and to the unions cav, i have no eyes on most of his army. i do know he has me surrounded. i have confidence that, even though surrounded, he will not attack in force for he rightly fears the tenacity of my boys. As he currently enjoys a minor union victory, i fear i may have to leave my defenses and engage the clever rascal. He has shown tremendous skill with the use of his cavalry and i am reluctant to chase after him.... any advice would be welcome. Col Blake Strickler is unrelenting and devious.... many times giving me advice and proving his points in the next several turns..

Keep a sharp eye out for lone cavalry units of... say...no more than a hundred men. These are not alone or isolated as they seem to be. I promise a hoard of their buddies are lurking, ready to pounce nearby. Just ask Lt. Col. Greenely and myself.
"This one time, at Perryville..."
The only other advice I could give you, good sir, is that you need to trade that dingy grey for a nice, crisp, blue uniform.

Looks like you are doing better against him than I did as I suffered a Major Defeat [partially redeemed myself since with a Draw and a Major Victory against Yankees].

I appreciate that you can't show us a picture but knowing the battle I'm assuming your centre is safe so watch your flanks and the rear and try to maintain a line of battle.

Thank you for the advice sirs. I will certainly keep a more watchful and distrustful eye on his cavalry.. My center is, I believe, relatively secure. I have left most of the guns and some good boys behind entrenchments. The circle closes and i fear he smells my reservation about leaving my defenses, so he teases me with brief glimpses of his troops, tempting me.
