I am playing the Union at Pea Ridge. Can someone tell me the function of Franz Sigel. He has no command range and does not provide leadership to a division when stacked with the div commander. What's up? In the battle he commanded (poorly) 2 divisions.

Sigel is there to ensure the proper cooking technique for sauerkraut.

R. Greenley, Sir! <salute>

Normally if 2 leaders are back-2-back in the OOB, the first is the commanding leader the second is in reserve (has no support or command radius unless the prior leader is killed/wounded/captured).

This prevents lower level commanders from getting bumped up if this first leader is removed from his position. If the second commander is then removed, a promotion of the next ranked officer will move up and normally an anonymous leader will be added.

NOTE: I discovered this will doing several scenario creations and playtesting.

Hope this helped! :)

Like Col. Campbell stated, while he is waiting his turn to lead he can make fresh sausage and sauerkraut for his exhausted comrades. ;o)

Thank you both! That answers the question completely. Thank you much. I'll have some of that sauerkraut and sausage.

Actually, I have read, Pea Ridge is regarded as Sigel's finest performance.

Is this feature documented? If so where. I looked through all the documentation files in the game folder, could find nothing.

AFAIK this might only work with some posts. I just looked at some of my posts and there was no option to delete. In another thread there was but only on a message that was the last in the thread.
