Col. Ren <salute>

My thanks Sir, you are most kind.

I note you have joined the 'Waving Flag Club', well done Sir.

Does this flag look familiar?

Congratulations to the new rebel leader though. We must get together later and find out which army is the REAL army in the west.

But I think we all know what the answer to that is already. [See picture below]

General Johnson <salute>

Thank you Sir for your kind regards, much appreciated.

Why Sir, are you waving your vest on a stick ? I suggest you repair to the camps of the CSA to observe 'real' waving flags and not underwear :o

I do believe you are correct Sir and that we shall face each other across a bloody field, some day.

Lieutenant Colonel McEntegart! <Salute>

Congrats on your appointment as Commander of the Army of Tennessee! No better officer to take command! Your involvement in the club has been fantastic and your active postings to the forum have been a benefit to us all!

(I was a Lieutenant Colonel too, when I took command of the ANV some 18 years ago, though I know without a doubt you'll do a much better job!)

General Treuting! <Salute>

Thank you for your service as Army Commander and glad to see you taking up the post as the Club's Recruiting Officer! I've enjoyed watching your engagement with fellow members in the forums and you'll certainly do us all a significant & key service as the new RO!

Several rounds for all, in honor of you both, this fine day! 8)

General Ludwig <Salute>

Sir,

Thank you for your very kind message of congrats and much appreciated.

I was most interested to hear of your taking command of the ANV as a Lieutenant Colonel all those year ago. However, you flatter me Sir, as I very much doubt I shall ever manage achievements such as yours in the service of our club, but my thanks for your kind comments and thoughts nonetheless.

Your painting 'Fire in the Sky' is quite outstanding and has to rate as one of the finest I have even set my eyes upon, absolutely magnificent, my deepest thanks once again, for sharing it. I would suggest that General Newell may be somewhat envious.

Thank you for your kind comment, Sir.

It is to be hoped that we, the Army of Tennessee, may together build upon the many achievements of those who preceded us and that success may always thereafter follow 'Our Flag'. This flag represents each and every member of our fine Army and may therefore be considered as their flag, and one in which I am merely honored and entrusted to carry on their behalf.

Thanks Karl and glad you liked the painting. John Paul Strain does some pretty unique pieces.

I've liked his Fire in the Valley featuring Mosby for quite some time:

Thank you Scott, 'Fire in the Valley' is indeed another very fine piece. Your message inspired me to look into J.P Strain and as you said he has some very unique and 'atmospheric' pieces with vibrant colors.

Indeed! Glad you checked him out. His site was little non operational the other day, but seems fine now.

I saw this one for sale at the Horse Solider in Gettysburg, when I stopped in earlier today:

Thank you for this one also, it's certainly different. I found on the King James Galleries a fairly substantial collection of his works, he appears to be prolific too. https://kingjamesgalleries.com/

Yeah he is! I haven't been in the King James Galleries yet, despite going past it all the time. I'm usually heading somewhere else when in town, but I'll have to stop in sometime.
