Saw on ebay an unopened/sealed copy of Talonsoft Gettysburg.

I know I don't need it. It would just be decor for my gaming room. People can keep their Star Wars designed Theater Rooms or Nintendo gaming rooms. Give me a Civil War gaming room!

I am talking myself into it more with each word I type.

RAM required to play 8 MB.... how adorable.

Hmmmmm..... may have to buy this.

Why are you talking about this...........buy it now ! you know you want it and you'll regret it if you don't. It's only 60 bucks, the wife will understand

If you didn't play it back in the day there are some things you'll want to know in advance. You'll need an XP machine to play it, the original game was similar to the SPI games with 1 SP = 100 men. Also you will need the Tiller updates, may have trouble finding those unless you know someone who keeps 30 year old back ups that work.

If you're buying it as a collector's item that's a different story. I have an old SPI Wacht Am Rhien game I paid $15 bucks for in late '70's, see them selling used for over $100-200 and unopened for over $300.

If I bought it, I couldn't open it. I'd just put it on the shelf for fun.

Still thinking it over. Since we are preparing to move I already have a ton of boxes around, what's one more thing to box up? We'll see

Would it run with Dos Box (I think not) or one of the other emulator type programs. It's Windows based program and Google says as follows for Win10:

Run the game in Compatibility mode:
Right-click the game executable file.
Click Properties.
Click the Compatibility tab.
Enable the option Run this program in compatibility mode for:
Select the compatible Operating System from the drop-down menu.
Click Apply.

When I updated to Win7 and tried to install the game it stated the file was not compatible with the operating system, that's why I bought the Matrix version as there were still a few members who played the BG games. Never tried to install in Win10 so I don't know if that would work.
I am still able to run my old HPS ADC2 on Win10, Rich H suggested I just copy the disc directly to the hdd, create a shortcut to the exe file and run it that way and it works.
My miniature group used it to run our campaign games, with it's hidden unit capability we don't need an umpire for the strategic moves.
Not sure if that would work for the BG games.
