I just saw this on the WDS forum
Quote:
Greetings,
I am very sorry to say that, after nearly 10 yrs the Wargaming Society has shut down. A few yrs ago the original founder, Scott Clawson fought his last battle. Mark and I have been managing the website, last year David Cronin joined up, building our Archive data system which did lesson the day to day workload. David left us because of changes with a new position, and his family. Mark also has been overwhelmed with his work.

While I have enjoyed building webpages, managing tournaments, etc. Age and various health issues has made managing the Wargaming Society, and tournaments, I can no longer accomplish effectively. Mark has concluded he simply is too busy.

As of April 3rd the Wargaming Society is no more.

Battle On,
Al

Yes, for 10 years they had a nice "all WDS games under one tent" club. I was very sad to hear about Scott's passing. I was a member in TWS when it first started and again starting last May when I rejoined. Offered me a place to play the Panzer Campaigns and Squad Battles series games with opponents.

Now that the WDS forum has an opponents wanted forum I plan on finding opponents there.

Good show, Mark, Al, Scott and David! I tried my hand at a club once and it barely lasted a year (or was it two). Its a lot of work and its kudos to all who have their hand in the admin of any of these online clubs. <SALUTE>
