Hello all,

I'm writing this to bring in to focus this event, and planning for it.

It's now January 19th...the event is 5 months away, which to some may seem quite a ways, but in reality is very short, especially from an organizers point of view. To date I have 11 people "registered" for the event. What that means is only 11 people have actually either put a deposit down or paid for their tickets in full. We are only 6 weeks away from the registration dead line, and that is a hard date. I have to make a non-refundable deposit on the computer rentals during the beginning of March, so by Feb. 28th I need to have a hard number of people that are planning on being there.

So, the long and short of it is this, if I can't get a significant amount of people registering ASAP for this event, I'm going to have to shelve the whole thing. I simply can't push on not knowing what sort of turn out there is going to be. I know a lot of you have expressed an interest, and many have said you will be there. I need you to step up and make a firm commitment to that now, please. What that entails is simply a 50% deposit on your ticket price, which all the details are listed on this page - http://www.hist-sdc.com/con/cost.html - the balance will be due one month prior to the event. And if you look at it this way, you can get the ticket cost out of the way now, so that's one less thing to worry about when the time comes.

We've got a plan worked out for food to keep the cost very low, if you wish to go with it. The Hotels I have talked to allow double occupancy, so lodging costs can be kept down as well. And if I proceed with the number of computers I originally aimed for there will be a ton of available gaming time for everyone. Like at least 6 hours a day, maybe more.

I personally think this will be a ton of fun. I've arranged to have some really special things happen, and be available to the people who attend. So, the ball is now in your court...If you can't attend for any reason, I can perfectly understand, but if you can, and you plan on it, please take action now! :-)

I've tried to remove the few addresses from people who have contacted me saying they can't make it, so sorry if you get this and you already said something...please reply and I'll get your address of the list for good.

Thanks for your time,
Rich Hamilton

Folks:

For this to get off the ground, people that want to participate need to get on the bandwagon.

Rich has put out a lot of time, energy and $$$$, to make this work.

Soon, he will be up against deadlines that need to be met. These include non-refundable committments.

June seems a looooog time away, when you are sitting in ZERO degree weather and snow on the ground, but this is when the plans must be finalized.

Please check out the website and make that PAYPAL payment or the other methods mentioned.

I look forward to seeing you all in June.

Fellow Members,

I agree, Rich has put in a lot of work and needs our support. I think that it will be great fun. I purchased my tickets and I am looking forward to it. The ACWGC should be there in force so that we can have some great games of CSA VS USA.

Bought my tickets some time back, had a good time just meeting the guys at the reunion a couple years back. Figure this ought to be even more fun.

I agree with Ken. If I don't play a turn, it will be just great to sit down and chat with people face to face. I am really looking forward to meeting you all there!

Guys,

I agree, the visiting is a big part of it. And in addition to the computers we'll have for gaming there will be plenty of tables if people want to get board games going, etc. Pretty flexible social atmosphere.

Setting up some boardgames would be a great fun. I think I will bring a couple. Napoleon's Last Battles SPI quad, 3 day battle would be great fun, easy setup and a good play time, one of my all time favorites. Maybe setup some tournaments!

Hi Frank,

Since I have achieved support to guarantee the event registering by the end of February is no longer mandatory, however doing so at your earliest possible time is requested. I can even accept payment at the door if it came down to that, however doing it that way won't guarantee us having enough computers, etc. to provide a good experience for all. So, the sooner the better.

Hope you can make it.

Rich
