 Post subject: Computer Problems

Need some ideas from the PC guru's out there. [:(] My PC decided not to run Windows today. Goes thru the BIOS boot(POST), but Windows fails to start properly, tried to start normally and with last good known settings (haven't changed anything), swapped memory in and out, different slots, etc. Disabled all the hardware I could and still run, no luck. [:(!] Finally put in a new hard drive, loaded Windows and it runs. Made the old drive a slave and I can still access the data on it (haven't figured out how to get email out of outlook express yet), but why, if I can access the data, won't it run Windows (this is all XP)? Any ideas? How do you get data out of outlook express on the old drive to the new drive?

It was probably something corrupted in WINDOWS. It might have been better to try to repair XP, first or reinstall XP.

From what you have said, there is no reason I can think of that you could not run OE from your OLD drive!

But, if that is not desired, then copy your email info from your old drive to the same place on your new one.
