If you are taking votes for other efforts, Eckmuhl and Wagram would be my candidates.

As an aside for those who have the maps. Any chance they can be used for boardgames, such as Avalon Hill's "Here Comes the Rebels" series?

It is possible, I guess. The maps cover a huge area, so for a game like AH's Gettysburg, it might be tooooo large.

Eckmuhl, Wagram would be nice additions.

I love that series! But my first thought would be scale. The map is for moving regts, the board game units are divisions/brigades. But G'burg '77 might work. Would be nice to see how it would work without the map edge-to-map edge lines.

That's a very good idea Bill...especially in this case, as this is not a cheap operation, and printing a bunch of maps just to have them sit around just can't be done.

Don and I also chatted about making a 2 sided map, so that two games could be included on one sheet. This could help reduce costs on both the production end and the purchasing end.

We'll see how it pans out...this is really Don's "baby"...I'm just helping when I can, because I think it's a great idea!

Bill,

Thanks for the suggestion and pointing me to the site. It is a great idea and one I will develop. I am receiving emails asking about other maps and we definitely plan to do as many as possible. Our concerns are the same as expressed by GMT as we are a small company that has taken a hit before on a publication. I am working with my printer now and will come up with guidelines soon.

Making these maps available has been a very interesting proposition. I have probably sold a third of the maps so far to people that I do not know from the club. I just shipped a map yesterday to Israel, and have shipped several to Europe and Canada alreeady, showing just how wide spread these games and the interest in the American Civil War really are.
