Anyone plan on trying this game?

For 20 bucks, it looks like it's worth a shot. It's a small company product, but they seem to have put a lot of care and detail into it. They say it's a lot like Sid Meier's Gettysburgh but with more detail.

No multiplayer, but they say they are going to add it after the initial release.

I have been following this game for two or three months now and am very curious to hear some reviews. You can download videos from theirsite and see the action. Read up on their history, it is quite remarkable that these guys in their SPARE TIME have put this all together and now have a publisher and everything.

I won't buy it until I hear some reviews, but it looks like a very good start and if the reviews are good I'll certainly pick it up for $20...

At $20, I took a shot. I've preordered it. I'll post my thoughts when I get it. I think it is supposed to ship on January 20 or so.

I have some doubts about the game, especially the OOB!

They have Col WADE HAMPTON as UNION infantry commander?? Hampton DID lead an infantry regiment (and brigade) early in the war, but as a REBEL.

Then thay have the 25th Virginia as a UNION REGIMENT (blue uniforms) in one picture and a REB(gray uniforms) unit is another.

Maybe these are just working pictures and have been corrected.

Ernie,

Some Confederate Regiments did wear blue at First Bull Run (I don't know about the 25th VA for sure, anyone?), and I know the 2nd Wisconsin was one Union regiment which wore gray there. I can't explain the Wade Hampton thing though. Hopefully they've fixed those sorts of factual errors by the time the game ships.

My comment was that the pre-production pictures showed the 25th VA as wearing blue in one picture and gray in another.

Our historical games might always have some inconsistencies, but those that are so obvious, like Wade Hampton, shoud not happen.

The game itself, though might be fine.

Its true the graphics are beautiful, but if its like Meir's Gettysburg, I wonder if the AI/Simulation ability will really be realistic[V]
