Can anyone help me find some Confederate cavalry pictures? No Generals please, just ordinary soldiers with horses. The can be on or off the horse, but the horse is needed in the picture.

I need a better selection then what is now available for my new HPS title.

What sort of pictures? Artwork or honest to God 19th century photographs? I might be able to find a few...

But can we get a hint as to the next battle? ;-) wink wink Not a bribe, I'll check for pics anyway! :)

Black and white or color?

If they would work for you, we have a big reenactment coming up on Feb 18t to 20th nearby that always has a very nice Confederate cavalry group involved that I can get some good photos of if you want color / live shots. Up close of course, no modern backgrounds. Or I can paruse the sutlers for some 'old timey' photos while I am there if that is more in line with your needs.

The reenactment is circa 1864, so the men are dressed more in that vein...

Here's a cavalry orderly at Antietam. It maybe a Yank, though. Can anyone tell the difference? Maybe by the style of saddle? http://memory.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/D?cwar:22:./temp/~ammem_NZiV::

I looked at a 1864 McClellan saddle. Maybe this will help:

I would say its a union man, couldn't see anything that would identify him as a confederate. I could only find 2 photos on the site of live Confederates and they were pow's.(quite a few photos of dead rebels at Antietam and Gettysburg)[V]
