Ever wonder why the Confederates attacked uphill against an entrenched position? The Battlefield Historians just discovered archeological evidence of a six foot deep mill pond that was on the Union right flank. That pond was fed by a six foot deep creek. If you actually try to look from Benner's Hill and Culp's Farm House the view is not affording to what may really be on that hill. Granted there were a lot less trees then, it is still very hard to see what exactly is there.
