... Campaign Peninsula is not called "Campaign The Seven Days"? Because that's what it is. It doesn't cover the advance up the Peninsula. Now I can quite understand that it would be difficult to make a competetive scenario say out of Yorktown--as has rightly been pointed out, nobody but McClellan would have hesitated to attack Magruder. It's more that I think the game is a bit misnamed?

Well, I guess because there is the Seven pine battle included in the game + the 7 days battle it seems appropriate for me to have that name...

Doesn't history know this time frame by the Peninsula Campaign? So giving it a new one would be like renaming the Battle of Gettysburg to 3 Days on a Hill. [:D]

To the contrary, save for Seven Pines (as has rightly been pointed out), history knows it as the "Seven Days". The "Peninsula Campaign" is usually the name given to everything that happened from Little Mac's landing on the Peninsula in the spring, through the advance on Richmond, the Seven Days, and finally the retreat from the Peninsula in late summer.

Yeah, but the Seven Pines battle isn't the Seven Pines battle. It's the battle of Fair Oaks.[:D]

Of course it is. But the games have a tendency to be designed by Reb sympathizers. Or they wouldn't have named "BG Shiloh" what should properly be "BG Pittsburg Landing" and filed the Battle of Stones River under the unspeakable name of "Murfreesboro". Well, at least they gave us Bull Run and Antietam under their proper names. [;)]

Come on, the reason is it abbreviates much nicer as in: CC, CO, CF, CG and then CP.[:D] And, is much shorter than a more descriptive name like "How That Idiot McCellan Managed to Win Almost Every Battle But Lost the Campaign" which would be HTIMMWAEBBLC.[xx(]
