When watching the replay of your opponents last move etc. is there a "pause" button that can be pressed to stop the replay temporarily?[?]

Some of the replays can be several mins long and it would be nice to pause play in case the phone rings etc. I've looked and can't find one, but maybe I haven't looked hard enough.[:I]

Thx

Yes, stop, continue, fast forward, rewind, that would all be great. I also would love a button that makes the replay skip all parts in which nothing happens!

But alas!, there is no such thing. You see the whole thing in one session, or nothing at all.

I don't know how many times over the years I've told my wife "I can't talk right now" when she asks me something in the middle of a replay.

Ahhh, Doug hits on the very thing about these games that could cost me the love and affection of my family[:D] (I say this a bit toungue in cheek).

Keeping the frustration down when I've watched nothing for 5 minutes, only to have her ask me to help with something just as troops flash in and out of sight too quick for me to catch with the distraction, and knowing I'm gonna go through those same 5 minutes of nothing...Herculean, I say.[;)]

Thankful that I got married BEFORE my wife (or I)knew about these games![:p]

Colonel Boyd,

As General Laub implied, there is nothing you can do short of reloading the turn and replaying the replay. I wouldn't think this violates the club rule about not taking a turn over, since you haven't taken any initial actions yet. Still, I'm sure there are some club members who may disagree with me on this point.

After all this time of telling my wife how I love the turn-based aspect of these games just because I CAN be interrupted at any time, I have had to back pedal and say, "Well, except while I'm watching a replay [B)] !" Now, when I know I'm about to watch a particularly long replay, I try to warn her in advance [8D] !

If you're playing Battleground you just don't click ok and you can leave the PC for a bit. With the HPS games I think you can do the same thing if you turn off the Continous Action option in the Settings Menu

But, even doing that only gets you so much. If there is shootin going on, it works, but if you are sitting there, waiting for that one moving unit to scoot through your LOS so you know where the enemies main effort is...

General McClellan,

If you've been 'sitting there, waiting for that one moving unit to scoot through your LOS so you [would] know where the enemies main effort is', you're still susceptible to being bamboozled -- apparently you haven't learned much from our meeting at Antietam, I see [:D][:D]!

In one of the larger campaign scenarios, the replay is taking close to
half an hour. But you hate to skip the replay and miss potentially
important information. Anything John can do to streamline the process
would be greatly appreciated.
