It sure did my Union heart good to see the History Channel do their Conquerof show on William Tecumseh Sherman. Good to see them give him credit for changing the manner of warfare during the Civil War. Of course I didn't mind seeing him rip the guts right out of the Confederacy either! Now all you Secesh can start your whining about Sherman burning Atlanta along with most of the rest of Georgia and South Carolina. [:p]

General Nelms,

We're really not as incensed about Sherm as you think we are. I mean, the guy just wanted to have a little barbecue for his boys and it kinda got out of hand, and then he couldn't keep good control of them and they ran all over the countryside. He had no choice but to go along or be left behind in Atlanta (and, what with the barbecue and all, he knew THAT wouldn't be such a good idea). It's a good thing the sea was there on the other side of Georgia, or those boys probably would have kept going until they ran into Africa or something.

But hard feelings? Heck, no. Y'all all are welcome back any time. Just bring that tourist money with you, and we'll be glad to sell you some genuine Civil War musket balls, mass-produced in our genuine Civil War Musket Ball factories [:D]!
