Hello all,

I'm looking for recommendations on *reasonably* balanced short to medium scenarios for each of the titles. Nothing over say 20 turns or so.

Thanks for the help!

None of them are balanced, they all favor the Rebs! [B)] Trust me!!

Nah, there are balanced ones. While the BG games (more than the HPS games) do in fact favor the Rebs, there are of course scenarios that counterbalance the Reb quality superiority with Union numerical, position, or artillery superiority.

I hate BGG#06h or #06a but they seem to be halfway balanced. BGS#15 seems to work, OK, that's 28 turns. BGS#16 (Prairie Grove) is so balanced as to be absolutely boring. BGBR#2 Blackburn's Ford. Then there's a lot of stuff in Corinth that's basically very playable from both sides - say Davis Bridge, Iuka. Ozark: all battles from the fall campaign work nicely for both sides. I think there's plenty, actually.

Jeff take a look at Old Tavern from CP. It's actually 23 turns but a nice balance I believe. Features an attack by the Union VIth Corps on some prepared Reb positions, but they have some very exploitable vulnerablilities. [}:)]

Neither of the opening battles of the full Peninsula campaign are balanced. In time, I doubt anyone will play them because 1) any competent Union commander should be able to win both of them with at least a minor victory, and 2) they don't change much since it seems the outcome always results in the Union offensive being halted at nightfall by D.H. Hill's division and everyone goes back to where they started. Just inflicts casualties, and the Rebs are hard pressed to hold either position against any Yank commander who exhibits common sense...
