Gentlemen,

<b><font color="red"><font size="5"><center>NEW GAME SITE OPEN. SEE STICKIES ABOVE.</center></font id="size5"></font id="red"></b>

In preperation for the opening of the new site, the present game registration site will be closed. The reason is simple. I came home from California and there are 92 new game starts and ends waiting for me. If I am ever going to get the new site up, I need to shut the old one down so I don't have to spend time doing something that doesn't need to be done anymore. :-)

Save your game registrations and ends and I will get the new site opened as quickly as possible. I started through my emails and General Nelms has delivered the info for the May 31st shut down to me. I have several emails from General Mallory and Gen. Cross so I probably have the CSA records available at this point too.

Remember, the site will be very basic and the data will be condensed at the beginning. Over time we will get all of the data in. The report section is also still being worked on. The starting reports are basic, but very helpful. More reports will be developed quickly so that the needs of the club are met. Again, I thank you for your patience while I get this going. Once it does open, please do not hesitate to contact me with suggestions for improvement or any problems you note.

Please do not email me game registrations. Wait for the new site.

Your obedient servant.

Try to be a little patient...after all, Don is doing this out of the goodness of his heart, certainly not for any pay, of any sort. I know he is due in Virginia in 4 days, so I would expect it to be down until after his return from Tiller Con.

Yes, I more than appreciate all that General Adams does for this club. I did not mean for my comment to be taken seriously. [8D]

That's probably my favorite time period, but the EAW & ACW games are really close, so it's generally tied I guess. Campaign Waterloo is just out, with a lot to offer! [:)]

Gen. Adams,

Take all the time you need. Your efforts in this regard are above & beyond the call. Surely it will be an easy thing for us to keep track of gaming results & post them later when the new system is up & running.

Gentlemen:

I too saw Don working on his site at Tillercon! The man drives over 1500 miles to go to a convention to do something he could have done at home!!!
He gave me a tour of the new "stuff" on his site.
This baby will make all record keeping easy in the ACWGC.
Don told me he purchased a server to host the site- [I'm not sure if this is the correct term for what he did] But if it's an on going fee I suggest that we add a paypal account to the page so those who want can donate to help Don pay!!!!

Hell of a job Don! [^]

Well, John, we should meet again at Beaver Creek![:D]

I am heading down to Williamsburg, today and plan on stopping at a few battlefields on the way.

I'll check at the convention center on my way out and see if DON is still sitting there plugging away![:D]

Gentlemen,

Thanks for your encouragement. It is hard to call it work when you really enjoy what you are doing. Do you mean people actually et paid for doing this stuff?[:D]

John, close enough. I have signed up for a hosted site. The cost is an ongoing cost and several people have already volunteered and suggested what you said. Once I get the site up (I'm working on it!) I will do as you suggested and put a paypal link. I am going to see if I can negotiate a lower price with the hosting site because we are in essence a non-profit organization.

Ernie, I got back to the Convention site and everyone was packing up and heading out. My wife and I went up to Fredericksurg and over to Chancellorsville. It was fun telling her about all that went on as though I was the expert. At the sunken road at Fredericksburg she saw the marker where Gen. Cobb was killed. She said "Cobb's Legion?" It seems she has some relatives that fought in Cobb's Legion so she knew a little bit about the group. She is always amazing me. She knows more about where Sherman's army went than I do because she cusses at him all the time for the courthouses he burned down and the records he destroyed. Thank goodness a lot of the records were removed and hidden. After all, most of those records were US records he was destroying!
