Gentlemen, I realize similar posts of this nature have been made in the past and apologize if I am forcing someone to repeat himself. I am considering which HPS game to get next: Ozark, Franklin, or 1776 (I now have Corinth, Gettyburg, and Peninsula). If anyone has any recommendations I would greatly appreciate them. Fld. Lt. Fld. Lt. Slepetz, I vote for Campaign Ozark: three different campaigns, good battles at Wilson's Creek, Prairie Grove, Pea Ridge and the music is great ! Fld. Lt. Harold Lajoie 3/2/I/AoM, CSA. |

Since you already have 3 ACW titles I'd suggest checking out the EAW series of games...so, 1776. Or, you could take advantage of my 5 for 3 deal, get all three EAW & the last 2 ACW titles. [:D] LGen. Hamilton II Corps ANV, CSA |

Ozark is my favorite game of the ACW games, but 1776 is by farthe best value of the games listed. Not counting add ons, 1776 gives you: Brandywine, Monmouth, Valley Forge (hypo), Yorktown (hypo), Bunker Hill, Cowpens, Germantown, First and Second Saratoga, Guilford Courthouse... and that's just off the top of my head, that's not even half the stock scenarios. And then, you get from the HPS sites the expansion packs with a few new campaigns. And that *still* doesn't count the pack of scenarios that Rich has on his website. Brig. Broaden your horizon, go for 1776. Then join the CCC. [8D] If ACW, then indeed Ozark. Gen. Walter, USA AoS / War College |

I was already leaning towards Ozark, and that seems to be the consensus with the ACW but I would also like to join the CCC. So tough to choose! Rich, what is the 5 for 3 deal you write of? Is it really possible to get five games for the price of three? Is there really a God? [:D] Fld. Lt. Brad Slepetz 4th "Hell's Rifles" Brigade 1st Division III Corps AoG |

Dear Fld. Lt. Brad Slepetz, I would recommend NOT getting Campaing Franklin, Artillery is too poweful, will result in change in tactics to keep your infantry out of artillery's sight. I do not have the other two. I am sure you will enjoy either one of them. Happy hunting...... BG Joe Mishurda Joe Mishurda, The Cast Iron Division 2nd Div. XXV Corp, AoJ |

If you're seriously interested in eventually getting all of these, contact Rich. I didn't think I could afford three games at once, but I worked out a deal with my accountant (that is, my wife!): We ordered five games (paying for three), I got the first one then (HPS Gettysburg!) and she tucked the others away for Christmas, birthday, etc. If you have a Significant Other who you can sweet talk, this might be the way to go for you, too. Hey Lt. Slepetz Suh, Ozark or Franklin are a good choice. My first HPS game was Franklin, and have a game going with General Bush. But Ozark is pretty good, but in Pea Ridge there's not a lot of open terrain, your stuck to using the roads if you need or want to move fast. Slow going through the brush. If you like the music on the HPS games Franklin and Ozark has some pretty good tunes. ANyway good luck on your choice. Thanks to all who replied to this topic, it helped a lot in making my decision. I think I'm going with Rich's five for three deal. Fld. Lt. Brad Slepetz 4th "Hell's Rifles" Brigade 1st Division III Corps AoG |
