That last song was Sultana's Bones. Has to be my favorite song of all the music on any games I've got. Just can't help singing along with that one, much to the chagrin of my dogs. [:D] Wish I could have been there to hear it live.

the second one is "Sultana's Bones" from Corinth. That, and a couple from Ozarks are the best he's done.

That one is Sultana's bones from Ozark another good one is Rebels in the Woods. I also got a CD from the Bentonville battlefield by the Sons of Dixie which has a good selection of music on it.

I think John and Tom should seriously consider putting all the music from the HPS games on a music cd so that we can enjoy these tunes in our cars, etc.

Colonel Karcher,

"Sultana's Bones" is from the Campaign: Corinth game. Here's a web site with details of the disaster: http://www.rootsweb.com/~genepool/sultana.htm

It's a chilling story, but one I would probably never have been aware of if not for these games (and the music on them).

It was great to hear the music of Tom Hook and he is a very nice guy, as well.

DW posted a URL, but, briefly, the Sultana was a steamboat that was taking Union soldiers that were released from Rebel Prisons, after the war, home. The riverboat was overloaded with something like 2000 +/- troops. The boilers exploded and the riverboat sank and something like 1700 soldiers drowned.
