HALLELUJAH!!!! BASKETBALL SEASON IS OVER!!!

That means its almost time once again for God's chosen sport - FOOTBALL!! (and I'm not talking the European kind of football where you actually use your foot... I'm talking the American football where feet use is against the rules unless you're a kicker... go figure... but I guess handball was already taken?)

You know, Ernest Hemingway said it best when he said, "There are only 3 real sports; Mountain Climbing, Bull Fighting, and Auto Racing everything else is just a Game".........

so go play your little Games.....I'll stick to the real sport....

NASCAR is about as much a sport as professional bowling or golf...

Ooooohhh, they're turning left! They're turning left again! And again!

Ouch, that guy turned right - you're not supposed to do that!

I seriously doubt 'God's chosen sport' is the game governed by never ending penalties, contains halftime shows with cheerleaders, and is played by cowards who are ridiculously over dressed in equipment not needed; which, by the way, has completely eradicated tackling from the sport in favor of the 'hit.' Must be a rugby fan...

Oh well, you are forgiven. Football is still the best Pro sport in America (for entertainment value, the way it is run, and its success... whether someone likes it or not). The PGA Tour is probably second on that list...

I agree with Alan Lynn, the NFL is the best league in North America, well managed, quality games and everyone have a chance for the big ticket to the Super Bowl. I love it ! [:p]

I'm canadian but I don't follow the CFL, too much passing and punts, not enough running plays. But the league is well managed now and the popularity is growing in Canada.

Major League Baseball is totally outbalanced with the astronomical payrolls of the Yankees and other big markets versus the small ones.
(Hey, I lost my Expos because of this). [V]

Basketball seems succesfull, but I don't follow that sport, sorry.

Do you remember the NHL ? [:o)] Hockey ? [:o)] I'm so sick of this dumb league.
Sorry again to my fanatical friends who talk about it even in the month of July and even after a full year of lock-out.

FIFA is a great organisation. It's not easy to rule a sport that is played in all countries of the world. The rules are standard for all the countries. International, continental and national tournaments are celebrated events; it's the #1 sport everywhere except in North America. (It's because they don't have the NFL). [;)]

By the way, this topic should be transfered to the smoking room, no ?
