Oh, if there's any possibility of an action point system that would be great!

(Unfortunately, I've already voted, otherwise this would be either 1st or 2nd on my list, even if that meant pushing the artillery supply wagons - something I've been wishing to see for years now - down into 4th place and thus off the list)

1. Units outside of Brigade command can only move one hex.
2. BCE
3. Arty. Disruption problem.

#1 really solves a lot of gamey play

My "votes" are:

1. Campaign Encryption
2. Arty disruption solution
3. Marching Fatigue

!Thanks! for upgrading the engine!

Also, by the way, isn't there still a bug where campaign loss carry-over is not working in some cases (in Gettysburg at least)? That should be fixed too, but I guess it falls into a different category since it is not new functionality.

1) Marching fatigure
2) Art capture
3) Art ammo.

If this thread isn't at Strategy zone can you post there too, or may I suggest a poll?

My wish list:

1) Arty capture/recapture
2) Bridge repair
3) Marching Fatigue

But I would love to see the other ones incorporated in the games as well [8D]

Rich, I really hope you will be able to do more than three. A lot of these would only be minor tweaks to the existing system. Maybe a whole lot of tweaks and one or two changes with some meat[:)].

Maybe partial implementation of some things that will give us 80% of what we want. That is, the old 80:20 rule, the last 20% takes 80% of the project time. Good example of something that could be partially implemented easily is Campaign Encryption. A good part of the functionality needed could be added by just requiring a password, no encryption, so people won't accidently open the other side.

I don't really want to clutter this thread with a lot of comments, but first I want to say thanks.

Secondly, I think you'll all be pleased with what is under development at this very moment.

Also, would any energic soul like to tally these votes in a simple format?

The reason why only three is asked, is due to the fact that experience has shown me that if too many are asked for, few if any get done.

As for what is simple and what isn't, as John has told me, what seems simple to me is actually not and what would seem more difficult, is sometimes very simple. He'll decide that, I'm just a player's advocate with a "few" inner circle ties. John will always answer my emails and do what he can as time permits and if he agrees with the concept. I tend to be a little knee jerk reactionary, the other designers are more methodical. (Darn, I hate it when I'm honest!)

It's perhaps rather surprising to find that some useful features already present in the Nappy engine - eg. engineers & weather - haven't received more votes.

I think many of us are perhaps hoping that these particular features that are already available within the Nappy engine should be a given that they could be added to future ACW games since the code is obviously already there. It should only stand to reason that if it rained in Europe from 1800-1815 and limited visibilty, that it would also have rained in the US from 1861-1865 and likewise limited visibilty! [:D]

Same should go for bridge repair and engineer units, or possbily have "pontoon train" units, which would be more in line with the practical usage of the CW era. Allow those pontoon units to "build" a pontoon bridge that could likewise be destroyed by ranged fire or melee as a normal bridge can, but they could build it in any river hex that was accessible from the land (no embankment hexside, for examble).
