Gentlemen

You may as well just turn your purses over to the barkeep as this will be expensive. There are several toasts to be drunk here, and I think you will agree that it calls for only the finest this establishment can offer.

First, a toast to Lt. Gen. Mike Tomlin, who after two years of faithful service to the War College as Assistant Commandant and Head of the Bureau of Military Information is seeking a bit of peace and quiet by taking a field command.

Sir, your health and prosperity!

Next, to Gen Jeff Laub of the AoP who has accepted the post of Assistant Commandant and will be bringing his considerable skill and wisdom to help guide the College to lead the Union to many more victories! [In truth it was the only way to stop him from winning every award the College offers.]

Sir, to your future with the College.

Next, to Lt Larry Quick who has accepted the post of Ordnance Officer with the College where he will be using his technical expertise, service, and server to help the College add even more to it's many fine resources.

Sir, may your bandwidth never runneth over.

Next, to Gen Walter, who has made the College the amazing resource that it is for the Union Army. I only hope that we others will do him proud.

Sir, our gratitude and sincere appreciation for all you have done.

Last, but most certainly not least, to the War College itself; a repository of the collective wisdom of many of the finest officers the Union has known - long may it flourish and prosper as a dynamic pillar of the Union!

(No offence will be taken if Rebel Officers decline this last toast [;)])

I am loath to close. We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battlefield and patriot grave to every living heart and hearthstone all over this broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.

I am afraid the more Gen. Jeff Laub gets to train those new Yankees, the harder it is going to get for us Rebs to obtain victory. [}:)]

General Kaulbars,

I will join in all your toasts. The men are fine, deserving officers. And much of the experience & expertise we Rebs have gained in the art of war came from our days with the U.S. army, fighting Mexicans and Indians - so I'll drink to the U.S. Army War College as well. And I'll even drink to your Union -- you still have plenty of states left in it, and if you choose to live under a totalitarian regime, that's your prerogative [:D] !

Your humble servant,
Gen 'Dee Dubya' Mallory
