Post subject: Cabinet Secretary Elections

Club President Pierre Desruisseaux has announced two Cabinet Secretary positions will be coming open on January 1, one for each side of the club.

An election committee composed of Generals David Mallory, Doug Burke and Ernie Sands was established to monitor the process. This message is considered the official one, with informational remarks made in other forums.

The Cabinet handles club rules administration. There are no command requirements or restrictions. Cabinet members discuss and vote on issues that would affect the entire club. Sometimes we go for weeks with little activity. At other times (such as during elections!) there is quite a bit of email flying back and forth between members.

Please consider this opportunity to serve. If you have any interest in this area, or if you know someone who you would like to see in this position, speak up.

-Candidates must have a rank of Colonel or above.
-Candidates must be nominated by two other members, of same side, before being placed on the ballot.
-Term is for 2 years
-Nominated members must be willing to serve.

If you are interested in nominating someone or have inquiries or comments please send an email to ACWGC Cabinet Members.

Please remember that TWO nominations are needed.

Please use the email address above to place your nominations, as that will go to all cabinet members.

We will post a list of candidates AND the members that nominated them.

Hm, guess I missed the stipulation that said, "candidates must be from the Army of the Cumberland". [:0]

Actually gentlemen, while I appreciate the nomination, I think that three candidates is perhaps too much for the electorate. I therefore respectfully withdraw from the race..

That's too bad Gen. Roubaud, as both Generals O'Conner and Wisted have already served on the cabinet and it'd be great to get new interest.

Regards,
General Burke

Gentlemen, the candidates have been asked to make one thread in the Smoking Room concerning their platform in running for the Cabinet. I would suggest that any member that wishes to speak in behalf of a candidate do so there also. I believe it will be sufficent to make an arguement for a candidate that you support and not post negatively on any other candidate who is running and it is not necessary to list candidates with you vote on each. You will have ample opportunity to cast your vote with the CoA of the respective side and that should suffice.
