Isn't it about time for a new campaign release? If so, what do you wish for?

I have no idea, and I'm sure that HPS won't tell us![:D]

My wish, however, is for Lee's offensive in 1862. Seems like some interesting choices with jockeying along the Rappahanock!

1864 Georgia Campaign would be a hit. It would be really interesting to study Johnston' strategy to defend against a stronger enemy. Also many encounters like allatoona pass, resaca, kennesaw mountain, new hope church etc. promise real fun.

Actually, I haven't been able to adequately examine the campaigns that are already out, and I hope they come out with a patch for Gettysburg and work to improve the overall system more than I hope for a new campaign. But another campaign that might be fun would be the Red River Campaign, because it offered so many options. That would also include Steele's Arkansas expedition.

R.E.,

Yes, that would most likely be the way that campaign would be covered, as it all was a single campaign. Just like we did with Waterloo, covered 2 Talonsoft titles and a whole lot more in a single one.

I'm not saying that's next, or even soon, mind you, but just how we'd package it...for our normal price.

Rich

What I think would be neat to see, but not very worth it for the market it would hit--would be a "War", were one places one's commanders on certain fronts, troops would travel with them, and input the areas one wishes to operate in, and the computer randomly selects the battles and the forces (using ratings for leadership, timeing of reinforcements, ect). From those battles one would progress on logical campaign lines. Not expecting this, as it would be a huge amount of work--not even sure how workable it would be, and would only serve a very, very, very, small niche market.
That said, I'm just glad there are enough people with interest out there to merit what we have and continue to increasingly have. Gotta like the large games they have been putting out.
<salute> to those who continue to invest their time into our fun.

It would be nice if for a small fee we could get Gettysburg expanded to start earlier and include the Chancellorsville battle. Probably have to add some random thing depending on that battle's result where the Union Army changes commanders from Hooker to one of a number of random possibles such as Reynolds, Meade, Hancock, etc.
1862 sounds good if it could have 2d Bull Run and Antietam. But they generally seem to only have one really major battle per campaign game.
Some day maybe they could come up with a program that could link all the games into one long campaign.
Then all units could start the war with ? as their quality -- unknown. First battle would reveal their true quality. This would be a die roll with plus/minus modifiers based on their training and/or historical starting quality. Adds an extra bit of FOW to things. Same maybe for leaders.

And just for the record, the 2nd Manassas <i>campaign</i> actually began before Cedar Mountain then progressed to the Rapidan and Rappahanock and... oh my, we already have a giant map of much of the Rappahanock area where Lee and Pope were facing off before Jackson set off for Manassas where, oh my, we already have a giant map of the entire Manassas and Thourofare Gap area.... hmmm... with just a little bit of work and a new map or two to cover the Rapidan area and the Rappahanock a bit farther south of what already exists in HPS Gettysburg, the Second Manassas campaign would be halfway finished already... the maps, anyway. Personally, I'd like to see the 1863 Tennessee campaign between Rosecrans and Bragg made into an HPS game. While I certainly appreciate the inclusion of the Army of the Ohio in Campaign Shiloh, I believe I speak for the rest of the Army of the Cumberland when I say that I'd love to have some scenarios with the AOC. Right night we just have TS Chicamaugua, which is a fine game but it is somewhat outdated now...

And Sibley New Mexico campaign? offer even the only cavalry lancers charge of all the civil war.
With the last battle of the war as a gift, Palmito Ranch, Native Americans, Afro-Africans, and Hispanic Americans were all involved in the fighting.
Would be a little tribute to all texans and hispanic players of this club.

The Second Manassas campaign - hopefully stretching as far as Antietam - would probably be my first choice. With most of the map work already covered by Gettysburg it shouldn't be too time-consuming to get done.

Seeing Vicksburg or Atlanta would be nice, though the Overland campaign would be even better.[:D]
