8 am General Buford was troubled. The courier had become lost. He carefully reread his orders and then again looked at the rapidly advancing Rebs, Oh yes, this was trouble. General Reynolds was troubled. What was Buford doing?? He looked at the report he had just received. Oh yes, this was trouble. Sgt Wade was troubled. He could see Yanks on the flanks, but no fire coming from up ahead. It was like marching into a funnel.
