General Desruisseaux,

It has been my pleasure to have worked with you as a member of the Cabinet for over a year now. You have provided stability to this organization. Even before I was aware there was such a thing as a 'Cabinet', you were there keeping things in line. There have been many times you held your temper in check and purposely held back, realizing the best thing for the club was for you to stay out of certain situations. At other times, you and the Cabinet were able to quietly deal with troubling situations. (I remember some public apologies here at the Tavern years ago.)

I know this was a difficult decision for you, and I salute you for the courage to let it go. I only hope the person who succeeds you will be as magnanimous.

Your humble servant,
Gen 'Dee Dubya' Mallory

Thanks Pierre, I suspect people really won't realize how much you've done for the club, until you are not doing it anymore.

Pierre -- thanks for all your efforts.

The ACW club was the first one I discovered a number of years ago. The structure of the club and your leadership has provided many hours of enjoyment and education. I hope the change provides you the opportunity to renew your gaming interests and find a way to channel that back into the club. Good luck and thanks again.

Pierre,

I've sadly not kept up my end in communicating with you over the last several months, since my Cabinet stint ended. That's my bad and, I assure you, nothing personal. Perhaps we can do some catching up and maybe even get in a game soon.

On to the accolades... you've done us all a great service, at times amidst moaning and complaining that others knew better and in the face of personal slurs which you had to endure. I've seen you bend but never break. You didn't throw in the towel. You never snapped back with anything greater than a mere fraction of some of the grief that was directed your way. Some other version of this Club would exist had you never taken up the challenge, or had you walked away, or had it splintered off into something else. It wouldn't be this Club though and, while in troubled times there were the critical remarks about this being "Pierre's club"... it is in fact Pierre's club. Not in a proprietary way. The members own the Club, as I've heard you state. It's simply yours because it wouldn't be here as we know it (and consequently we wouldn't be part of what we are in fact a part of here) had you not done the things you've done or been the person you've been.

This is a great Club. You've shown great leadership and dedication in playing such a large role to make it what it is. There are going to be some absolutely immense shoes for someone to fill and I suspect it will be only that person who, after spending some appreciable length of time in the role, will truly understand what you've done for all the gamers who've passed this way in the last 9 years.
