General Mihalik, I would be interested in participating in the blind scenario you've described. I prefer phased play, with all optional rules on (but I'm also very flexible re the optional rules).
quote:
Hi, All, When I attended Tillercon last year I found there was a lot of free time to game. I think the WWII guys had organized a team scenario before they attended. I am toying with the idea of something similar for us ACWs which I would be willing to moderate involving a blind scenario. If any of the folks here who are planning to attend are interested in something like that, please comment. Any suggestions pertaining to the details are welcome, such as whether it would involve phased play, single turn play, house rules, etc. If nobody is interested, that will make it easy.[8D] MG Mike Mihalik 1/III/AoMiss/CSA

BG George Denney 3rd Brigade, 2nd Division VI Corps, Army of the Shenandoah |

If it's an MP game count me in. One of the best things about Tiller Con I was playing an MP game. Gen. Ken Miller Army of the Shenandoah |

Hi, Generals, Looks like we have at least two players for each side, so I will definitely plan on putting together a blind scenario. Looks like there are some different ideas on what options and system to use, but I'm sure we can work that out. Hopefully, as Tillercon approaches, we will get more participants. Thank you Generals Mallory, Weir, Denney and Miller for your prompt response. MG Mike Mihalik 1/III/AoMiss/CSA |

Gentlemen: I can see well enough to send this message myself. I will also participate in an MP blind scenario. Also, should be gaming after the frist of the year. It is about time. Jim Gleason LG 4-2-I AoP |

Jim, Glad to hear you're doing better. Hopefully you'll be 100% by TillerCon II. Looking forward to seeing you again. Looks like we'll be on the same side if another Reb works up the courage to participate. I'd like to participate myself, but I'm not sure what my availability will be...having to keep up with the admin stuff of the event and all. So put me down as a "maybe". Good to see you doing better Jim, really hope you can make it Sir! LGen. Hamilton II Corps ANV, CSA |

Hi, Rich, Speaking strictly for me, I don't have a problem with you participating part time. Last year you sacrificed your time to help make Tillercon I a success as I recall. MG Mike Mihalik 1/III/AoMiss/CSA |

Hi, Remember this topic? Looks like Tillercon is less than a month away. Folks who indicated interest in the blind scenario game way back in December were Gens Mallory, Weir and Hamilton for the CSA and Gens Ken Miller, Gleason and Denny for the USA. Hope you all are still interested. I will be two weeks on the Appalachian Trail before coming to KC. As the highest ranking members from each side, I am requesting that Gens Mallory and Miller coordinate whether you want single turn or multiphase and specific options, of which there are a few more than when we considered this over four months ago. Rather than just having David and I decide I'd like to hear from everyone on whether you want to play phases or single turn. Personally for an MP game I think single turn is the only way to go, I don't know if you can play such a game in phases but then I've never tried it. As to options I'm not sure which engine was picked but I just checked out the list of patches and it appears all have been updated to include the Artillery capture and spiking option and some have had the weather option added. Personally I can go with whatever the majority would like but I have some preferences. I prefer to use VP's for Leaders Night Movement Fatigue Weak ZOC Flank Morale Modifier Bridge Limit & Repair Artillery Capture Density Fire Modifier Full Melee Defensive Fire No preference on Quality Fire Modifier Quality Melee Modifier Partial Retreats I prefer not to use Isolation Rules Optional Fire Results Optional Melee Results Higher FA Recovery Rout Limiting As I said I'm willing to go with the majority on the options so if everyone will post their preferences we can tally them up. If you want I can keep track of them here. Note your votes for each option you want to use, those you don't care about and those you don't want to use and I'll tally them that way and update this whenever I see someone's post. VP's for Leaders 2-0-0 Night Movement Fatigue 2-0-0 Weak ZOC 2-0-0 Flank Morale Modifier 2-0-0 Bridge Limit & Repair 2-0-0 Artillery Capture 2-0-0 Quality Fire Modifiers 1-1-0 Density Fire Modifier 2-0-0 Quality Melee Modifier 1-1-0 Partial Retreats 0-2-0 Full Melee Defensive Fire 2-0-0 Isolation Rules 0-1-1 Optional Fire Results 0-0-2 Optional Melee Results 0-0-2 Higher FA Recovery 0-0-2 Rout Limiting 0-1-1 Gen. Ken, Your selections work fine for me... I still have to say though that my participation is questionable, since I have to be doing a lot else on this weekend...not sure how long the rest of you plan on being there, but it would be much better for me if this could be played on Sunday as Saturday is going to be a bit crazy for me.
