It gives me great pleasure in awarding the Outstanding Service Medal to Major General Ned Simms. General Simms dedication to the service of our Club and this Union Army in the maintenance of web pages, service in leadership posts, and in sharing his tactical knowledge is nothing short of exemplary.

Please join me in congratulating and THANKING Ned for his service!

And in welcoming him back from the nether regions of these past few months.

You'll have to send a search party out to find him in his deep woods abode, though, before you can stab him... I mean, present him with this medal. Last I heard from him in July he won't have internet access until September when his new HQ is finished being constructed. [:D]

Bartender,

It was my great pleasure to meet General Simms in person during the Shiloh tour arranged by General Danner earlier this year. Although General Simms and I have yet to cross swords in battle, I have a feeling it will be a very interesting match when we do. I was a student of his tactics before he turned to the 'dark side'. I look forward to that day when I can put the lessons he taught into practice.

When General Simms returns from settling the Missus into the new homestead, give him a drink on my tab. His "Link Express" has helped me and my poor horse find our way home after many a night of tavern-hopping -- it's the greatest thing since bread crumbs [:)]!

Well button my britches, I ain't been this puffed up since ... never mind since when or what 'cause this is a family rated forum. I've got some good corn liquor rotting in a barrel out back of this place and now's a good time to chop the top off of it and start dipping some glasses. I don't know what you fellas are going to drink ... well, I reckon I can stand to share some of this barrel medicine on an occasion like this even though I have shown up a mite late for the party. What's two months among friends though. Mosey on up here and build yourself a powerful headache for in the morning. I'd like to thank all of the dedicated folks that keep this club running. It takes a few to work hard for many to enjoy the rewards and I've had many rewards as opponents and friends in this club. Salute to all of you and thank you Gen Laub for this Out Standing in his Field Service Medal. My check will clear the bank this time, I promise.

Well deserved, Ned, and long overdue.

I think the corn liquor might cause my facilities to abandon me, and since I just had my uniform cleaned and pressed after the last set of stains, I'll sip my whiskey from the personal flask...[:0][:p]
