I might be able to take on * CV 04h_a. McClernand's Fix for the Rebs, but let me double check - can I put my name down tentatively? If I recall that one isn't too big in terms of number of turns or size of the armies, but I don't want to take on too much at the moment. I'll double check on it tonight (if I don't forget!) and confirm. Will that be ok?

I would like to report a Major Victory for the CSA at Fredericksburg.

Acwco Fredericksburg / CSA: MG Edward Stewart / USA: BG David Swartz.

A battle that went back and forward and was hard fought to the very end.
The Union forces had made substancial progress on the first day and the Confederates fell back with the left flank in dissarray. The battle looked a formality at this point.

Early on the second day the Union forces pushed hard again breaking a thin line on the CSA left to advance to a heavilly re-inforced second line. The confederates left held well although pushed hard.

At the same time as the center was being pushed back by the Union the CSA launched and pressed home a major attack with Cavalry and Infantry on their right flank, this partial envelop of the left Union flank was to cause devestation to the ranks of the Union cavalry forces as they rushed to prevent a complete turning of the flank.

With ammo and artillery shells running low the CSA forces retreated into the forests and built several lines of defence, as the Union forces kept pushing the CSA left was starting to show risk of itself being enveloped, yet an ordered retreat was attempted and the Union forces still paid heavilly for every step forward.

As the Union forces pushed again another enveloping attack was to break their left again, as the CSA reserves (fresh to the fight) came down upon the Union. The amount of material and men captured was enough to cause the battle to swing in the Confederates favour and as the Union tried to attain the few important locations on the map, the Confederate forces held on and caused enough damage to turn this to a Major Victory.

Losses on either side were large and this was due to so much close fighting and the large number of prisoners taken by either side in waves of attacks.

A very enjoyable battle and the CSA forces were again in trouble at the end, thankfully the battle was ended and they withdrew while they could.
