With Grant's army closing in on Vicksburg, the Rebel cause in the West seems doomed, unless some courageous CSA officer turns up to defend that strategic position. Added to Grant's forces is a division of crack Union troops, veterans from many a battle in the West, the 1/XIV of the Army of the Cumberland. [:)]
Will Vicksburg fall and open the road to the SOuth without a single shot in the defense of the Confederacy?
