The dispatch posted below was meant to indicate that my meager forces have been engaged by the good Gen Laabs, and that until further notice more battles would constitute enfilade and rear attacks in which I would be thoroughly routed.

Looking forward to many more battles, but not just yet - thanks [:D]

Dispatch 05/11 1700

Rebel forces under <b>Brig Gen Mike Laabs</b> have been located between the Coosawatee and Oostanaula Rivers E or Pratersville, moving in the direction of Reseca. General McPherson is deployed to their S and the rest of our forces are moving up to engage....

Would consider Perryville, Val Verde, or Pea Ridge.

Battle or Mirror Match.

Prefer: Variabe reinforcements and all optionals except fast fatigue recovery.

Innovative play applauded, gamey frowned on (using leaders to draw fire, etc).

Mandatory House Rule: Both players must, in public, lie unabashedly about one another - viz, praising the other's strategic brilliance, tactical genius, toughness, resolve, and gentlemanly deportment.

Needless to say it does one's own reputation no great harm to have lost to/beaten such an opponent [;)].

Send a rider to the young widow's place up past ... um ... yes [:I] well ... uh, just give the dispatch to the Cpl, he knows where to find me.
