Gentlemen,
I've returned after a prolonged absence and I'd like to get a MP game going. Gettysburg is my only title and so far one other Unionist, MG Doug Shaw, has signed on to play.
3 v.s. 3 is the minimium needed. 4 v.s. 4 would be even better. Scenario and rules can be agreed upon once we're all assembled.

Please sign me up, I've had the worst luck in mp games with players dropping out but will keep trying.

Lt. Colonel Tom Bridges tells me he'll join us Unionist, depending on the rules and scenareo. So that's Doug, Dave, Tom and me v.s. RDavis and three AWOL Confederates.

Welcome, Mark, now we just need two more Secessionists and we're good to go.

Almost time to start thinking of what rules and scenareo we'll be using. I'm open to anything the majority agrees to but my preference would be for the full 156 turn historical 3 day batttle.

If you are still looking for Rebs I'd love to get in. My MP experience is limited though, I do know the basics as I'm in the Champions Hill Tourney. It's just with my limited experience in MP I would prefer one of the smaller commands.

Good choice, I'd prefer the 3 day battle as well. Just need one more reb!

You could start now with 3 rebs and keep looking for one that would take command of units that arrive later in the scenario. This is a long scenario and some units don't come on till the second or third day. My 2 cents.

We can definitely get started with three confederates, we just need to work out our Southern command arrangements.

Have we decided that we are playing the historical three day Battle of Gettysburg? What optional rules are satisfactory to everyone? Artillery capture is the one rule that I really would prefer to not use.

I'm fine with most of the optional rules. I don't have any strong feelings on them one way or the other. The one I don't really care for is artillery capture.

Yep, prefer no arty capture and no mdf , all others are OK.

Things jelled faster then expected. Doug Shaw originally told he'd be on vacation from 7-16 to 7-23 and I thought he'd return before we got started. Maybe another Reb will show up before he returns.

In the mean time perhaps the two side can get started on agreeing on rules and scenareo. I usually play with all options on except these four: manual defensive fire(of course), alternate fix unit release(not sure about this one), weak ZOC, and bridge limit and repair. I never liked arty capture so it's fine with me if it's off. The only one I feel strongly about for now is weak ZOC off.

I'll make a Union email list and get started with building a concensus. Talk to you Rebs later.

Weak ZOC on usually makes for a better game with increased manueverability. Strong ZOC just makes no sense in some cases, I have seen units unable to move away from harm as they would do in real life. I believe a poll of club members would support use of this option.
