Gentleladies of the South,

I have just graduated from West Point and am seeking a brave young Nathan Bedford Forrest to sweep me off my feet for my first engagement against the Confederacy.

Here is my proposal:
HPS Gettysburg - Scenario: 81. Cavalry Skirmishers (var. 32) - 18 Turns

These Optional Rules to be used:
Higher Fatigue Recovery Rates
Victory Points for Leader Casualties
Rout Limiting
Mounted Cavalry Skirmishers
Isolation Rules
Automated Defensive Fire
Artillery Ammo by Cannon
Fog of War (of course)

My commanding Officer's have advised me to look for someone who is roughly the same rank as myself... (though they stated that Rebel Lt General's die just as easy or easier than Field Lt's) and no sissy Officer's that march under red banners with animals on them need apply.

I can be contacted by dispatch rider at gregorolinsky at yahoo.com. I am good for at least 4 turns a week.

Brigadier General Arndt,
Christian,

Thank you for your quick reply, Sir! <salute>

I was hoping for a more junior Officer for my first outing but I might be willing to play multiple Confederate Officer's in this scenario. Let me see who else might be interested in the Confederate Camp. If there are no other takers... then I will gladly cross sabers with you. If a less experienced CS Officer accepts my challenge... then perhaps I will gain some valuable experience on this battlefield and then give you a better battle in our future engagement!

Regardless, I shall keep you informed about the who, the where and the when of this matter!

Guten Tag!

Greetings Gentlemen,

I haven't been playing the hps series for a long time, but I enjoyed your bold if not slightly arrogant challenge! I would be happy to do battle with you in the scenario you've chosen. I am not an expert by any means, but I share your enthusiasm. I don't want to intrude on General Arndt's proposal for a game at all though, and I apologize if my acceptance appears to do so.

Respectfully to both persons,

Michael

Major Chandler,
Michael,

My goodness... are there no Field Lieutenants in the Confederate Army? Though I must say a Major is still a significant improvement over a Brigadier General!

My apologies if my posting seems a little brazen. I missed the class at West Point on "Deportment for Union Officer's" because I was assigned to KP (Kitchen Patrol) by General Riggs that day. But I made up for the class by reading Hardee's Drill Manual. (A very boring read... I assure you!) Obviously, I may have missed some important details on deportment... but I hope you will forgive me. (Though I assure you I can carve a mighty mean potato!)

I am most interested in your offer to meet me on the field of battle. You're not from that crazy alligator unit, are you? I'm a bit confused by your unit of assignment? I do not see any Corps designation in your signature, nor could I find you listed on the Army of the Mississippi web page? I'm still hoping that a Reb Field Lieutenant might step forward and accept my challenge but if I don't find one shortly... I will gladly cross sabers with both you and perhaps Brigadier General Arndt.

I shall await the dawn and see what happens! I shall send a courier to your HQ with my decision then! <salute>

Good evening Lt Olinsky Sir,

There is absolutely no need to apologize nor did I mean to suggest that your brazen behavior was bad or required correction. There is no problem if you are able to find another Lt to compete against, and are not able to meet at this time, as we may do battle in the future.

I am located in the Army of the Mississippi OOB on the posting in the Army's forum (as Fld Lt Chandler, M), but perhaps I'm not listed somewhere else as I am actually still fairly new. I am not certain that my fine Army is using the corps system currently. I am apart of the 4th Division "Lucky 21", and you have repeatedly referred to Gator Alley, which is the 2nd Division attached my fine Army of the Mississippi.

I will await your word if you are willing to meet me in battle, Sir!
