I am looking for a game from either JTS Shiloh, Chickamauga, Antietam, Atlanta or Gettysburg. Overland works too. I have yet to play anything from Overland.

Optional Rules: I prefer all ON except for:

Manual Defensive Fire
Alternate Fixed Unit Release
Partial Retreats
Artillery Fire by Cannon
Proportional Op Fire

I am not into huge scenarios for now. I am working on finishing off another Napoleonic title for JTS and can't spend a long time on the game move.

Look forward to getting back into the gaming!

This challenge is still open as I would really like to play a member that is of Major or higher (seasoned officer). I need to get my boots muddy so hoping to hear from a Reb soon :)

Col. Peters Suh! <Salute>,

I'd be interested in a smaller Atlanta scenario if you are still looking.

I agree with all of your optional rules except partial retreats (becomes too easily gamed, IMHO).

Let me know,

Let me know if 032-Cassville May 19 AM Historical works. Its 27 turns.

I dont know many people that play with Partial Retreats ON.

From the manual:

Why isn’t the Partial Retreats Optional Rule a default rule? Retreats from a hex by units that have just lost a melee are necessarily very chaotic events.
Certainly with a breakdown in command and morale, it would not be possible to find some optimal displacement of units that would just fit in the retreating hex. A good analogy would be a burning building where quite often a large number of people perish even though there are exits readily available. The dynamics of this situation is known as "choking" and results in greatly reduced flow through openings. Based on this, there is justification for concluding that obstructions to their retreat would often result in the surrender of the defeated troops rather than some optimal reduction.

But I can play with it ON if you like. Let me know if you accept the scenario I chose and we can begin. A real challenge for the Union player for sure.

Col. Justin Kowal and I will meet on one of the battlefields in the Atlanta game. Club game requirement fulfilled and eager to do battle.

FYI: I am playing Don Vandergriff (retired member) in an Overland scenario. Really enjoying it. I put the bug in his ear to come back to the club so maybe he will return.

Don is currently over in Afghanistan as a civilian (he is former US Army officer). Keep him in your prayers please!
