So whats your answer?

For consideration I will throw out:
Saving Private Ryan
Bridge of the River Kwai
Sands of Iwo Jima
Mister Roberts
Schindler's List
The Great Dictator
The Big Red One

Of all the WW2 Movies I am going to go with Sands of Iwo Jima. John Wayne is still the greatest "guy" actor of all time and that movie was always my favorite as a kid. The older I get the more I appreciate its quieter moments and the storyline beyond simply a rifle squad going up a hill. Saving Private Ryan is fantastic but I kinda wish that someone like Robert Mitchum, Gregory Peck, or William Holden was around, and in their prime, to play the lead in it.

For authentic WWII equipment, Kelly's Heros. Far fetched story but highly entertaining. And the Germans speak German with no sub titles.
