Band of Brothers and The Pacific

very surprised that both of these mini series by HBO have not been mentioned.

both are 5 star in my opinion and well worth a spot on everyones shelf.

I actually liked The Pacific more than Band of Brothers. I thought the storylines flowed better whereas in BoB the stories seemed to shift episode by episode. The main characters in The Pacific received much more facetime than they did in BoB. Also The Pacific took us to the homefront before and after the war which was a nice touch.

cannot dispute what you say...........I loved them both, with an edge to BoB.
(Major Winters recently passed away, a real hero)

I read both books that "The Pacific" were based on and they are must reads also.

Helmet for my Pillow by R.Leckie and With the Old Breed by E.Sledge (could not put it down).

Yes, both were great series, I have band of Brothers on disk and I believe that both series have just been released as a package deal boxed set...not sure of the cost. These two and Saving Private Ryan are on my list of excellent WWII movies.
