As others, too many to mention but... Gettysburg A Bridge Too Far Saving Private Tora! (if I can combine two...) Reaching into the not as well known bag... Agree about Waterloo. The Great Raid I had never heard of until I watched it and really enjoyed it. The North Star is an insanely good black and white propoganda movie about the Germans taking over a Russian village early in the war and their resistance. And just completely cheating...Ice Cold in Alex, The Dam Busters, Sink the Bismark, A Town Like Alice...and my growing up was dominated by many re-watchings of Patton, Battle of the Bulge, Guns of Navarone, Force 10 from Navarone, Sands of Iwo Jima, Flying Tigers, The Enemy Below, Big Red One, Anzio...more but I'll stop now... |
