"Review at Moss Neck" by Mort Kunstler

Honors for General Cameron McOmish

Officers of the Confederate States of America (CSA) Armies & Fellow Club Members,

It is my extreme honor & priviledge to recognize the rare, exemplary service that General Cameron McOmish has provided to the Club and to the Confederate States of America (CSA) Armies. He served as Chief of the Armies (CoA) from November 1, 2011 to October 31, 2013 and more importantly volunteered as the Interim Chief of the Armies (CoA) from July 17, 2014 to December 14, 2014.

He provided stellar service in his first term and in his more recent term, after General Neal Hebert had to step back for real life reasons, Cam provided the all too often rare service, that had him go above & beyond the call of duty, that really no CSA CoA has ever had to do. He worked out a plan, that took all Fall of this year to implement in the various stages of it, to reorganize & consolidate the Armies of the Confederate States of America (CSA).

He did an amazing job, taking 4 field armies & trimming them down to two, the Army of Northern Virginia (ANV) which operates in the Eastern Theater of the Confederate States of America (CSA) and the Army of the West (AotW) which operates in the Western Theater of the Confederate States of America (CSA).

He listened carefully & engaged the membership in every step of the way. A task not always easy due to competing interests and ideas, but he carried that duty out with the utmost interest of the will of the CSA membership at large. He even took the time to email every single CSA Officer to keep them informed of the process and allow them to pick a new unit in the new armies. He carefully & purposefully considered the desires, concerns & wishes of all officers and did his best to accommodate them all.

Myself, Club President Bob Weir and many others agreed that Cam was the best suited to carry out this very involved task & that no one would of done a better job than he did. The CSA should be blessed to have such a fine officer in our ranks.

Cam has left his legacy and in it has left a CSA that is in much better shape than it has been in years. We have a full compliment of leadership & we are more fit & ready than ever to go forward into a new & bright future.

With this service & the fact that he was never recognized for his previous CoA service (something I was working on, but never able to finish until now), Cam recieves a whole host of CSA National Awards. Normally several would be given out to a departing CoA, as thanks for their service to the Command, Club & CSA Officers, but since Cam was never awarded his original batch & since I felt he deserved extra recognition for what he did this Fall, I have authorized the awarding of the following "Notice of Award" with the honors he so richly deserves.

It shows 12 different awardings total across 7 different CSA National Medals. In fact he has received at least one from every medal possible to give that relates to Leadership & Service in the CSA.

We cannot thank you enough Cam for "righting the ship" and providing service, way above & beyond the call of duty in a task that no one has had to carry out before.

With a heartfelt thanks, we ALL thank you!

Three Cheers for Cam!

Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!

The buffet of food & more importantly drinks is open! :P

Congratulations Gen McOmish! Your service is greatly appreciated by the Union also. It would have been very disappointing not to have Rebel officers to crush on a regular basis. Thank you Sir for your service.

I fear that this plethora of awards will only serve to launch Cam into a year-long, celebratory drinking binge. It will provide him with the example he was looking for to prove to the CSA Drinking Team that once begun one must indulge himself to excess. (I understand that the stage from which he imparts his lessons to that team is littered with corks, broken glasses and damaged mugs.) :P

All kidding aside, General McOmish is deserving of any and all plaudits which may come his way, and this very noteworthy recognition is completely and richly deserved by him. And I salute not only him, but all of the CSA leaders and officers who stood by him in the late re-organization. And my compliments to General Ludwig for his talents and expansiveness in signaling General McOmish's contributions. These actions speak well for the future of the ACWGC CSA.

<SALUTE>

Salute to General McOmish,

To his long dedicated service and leadership to the CSA.

"Duty is the most sublime word in our language. Do your duty in all things. You cannot do more. You should never wish to do less." Gen. Robert E. Lee

Gen. McOmish has never done less than his duty and more often times above and beyond. I have known him from a previous enlistment and he has always been in the forefront of leadership of the CSA armies.

Well you do not check into the forums for a few days and then "what the". Many thanks for the awards and since I am in Melbourne doing extensive testing on the local food and wine I will ramp up the wine aspect to warp factor nine. On a more sane note, this club has given me endless gaming fun and social interaction with a very diverse range of people, a lot of which have become firm friends. So stepping up to help the club and my beloved Confederacy was an easy decision.
